Qualifications I have
I am self taught in kilnformed glass, although I have met many helpful people along the way who have given me good advice. I was fortunate enough to have been invited to the USA, where I took part in an internship with Bullseye glass. It was a great opportunity and I learnt a lot while I was there.
People I have been
I have had various jobs in the past including teaching surfing, sailing and other outdoor sports, repaired surfboards and worked in surf shops, and before I started working with glass I was a lobster fisherman for five years. Most of these jobs allowed me to travel and surf in the winters!! I became interested in glass after seeing some one year in Australia.
People I am now
I currently run a glass studio and gallery in Hayle, Cornwall. The gallery space is new for 2008, and I hope that it will become a space for people to see my work and ideas. I teach glass in a jewellery context at the MCSJ, but also run classes from my own studio, although we generally work with larger scale pieces.
When I am not working with glass I have a number of other pastimes. I have surfed for many years and just enjoy being outdoors doing something!!
People I hope to become
A happy old glass artist!!!!
